FaceChipz: Facebook with “Training Wheels”!

Are your kids growing out of Club Penguin? Are they asking to go onto Facebook? There is now a new social networking site for kids - FaceChipz. Think of it as Facebook with “training wheels” – a safer option for younger kids.
FaceChipz are a collectable, connecting device. So how do they get started? Kids buy a package of five Face Chips (sold at ToysRus). They then login to FaceChipz and create a social profile for and then register each of their chips to their profile. Each chip has a serial number on the back - once they register this serial number, they can then hand them out to friends. Each of their friends then logs onto FaceChipz and enters the same serial number to their profile. When the computer sees the same serial number – they connect the two kids.
It creates a closed social network – all created through the exchange of these friendship tokens. Parents can now sleep better at night knowing that their younger children will be protected against "fringe friends".
What a great idea!
